- Bottom line
"Costco hours" is one of the most searched shopping phrases in the United States, with close to two million searches a month. Most people want a quick answer: when does the warehouse open, when does it close, and is it open on a holiday. Costco has more than 900 warehouses worldwide and each one runs its own schedule, so there is no single answer for every store. Still, U.S. warehouses follow a clear pattern, and Costco publishes a fixed list of holiday closures.
Data checked on October 16, 2026. The regular hours below come from Costco's own warehouse pages and its membership comparison table on costco.com. The holiday list comes from Costco's customer service center. Hours for Canada, the UK and Australia come from costco.ca, costco.co.uk and costco.com.au. When Costco has not yet published a schedule for 2026, we say so.
Typical Costco warehouse hours in 2026
Since mid-2025, Costco has split opening time by membership tier. Executive Members get early access to the warehouse, while Gold Star and Business Members come in later. On its join page, Costco says warehouses "open daily exclusively for Executive Members" from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday to Friday, 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Sunday.
| Day | Executive Members | Gold Star and Business Members | Closing time (typical) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday to Friday | 9:00 a.m. | 10:00 a.m. | 8:30 p.m. |
| Saturday | 9:00 a.m. | 9:30 a.m. | 7:00 p.m. |
| Sunday | 9:00 a.m. | 10:00 a.m. | 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m., depending on the warehouse |
Sources: Costco membership comparison table (early shopping hours) and costco.com warehouse pages for Colorado Springs, Colorado, and San Jose, California, checked October 16, 2026. Your local hours may differ.
Sunday is the day that varies most. On costco.com, the Colorado Springs (West) warehouse closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday. San Jose stays open until 7 p.m. and lets Executive Members in at 9 a.m. on both weekend days. If you shop late on Sunday, look up your own store.
In practice, the split means a Gold Star or Business Member has 10.5 hours of shopping on a weekday (10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.), while an Executive Member has 11.5 hours. On Saturday the gap shrinks to 30 minutes. Closing time is the same for every tier.
How to check Costco hours today
- Open the warehouse locator at costco.com/w/-/locations, or use the "Warehouse" tab in the Costco app.
- Search by city, state or ZIP code and open the warehouse page.
- The top of each page shows a live status line, such as "Open until 6PM" or "Closed: Open 7AM Friday", so you can see at a glance whether the doors are open right now.
- Below that, the page lists warehouse hours by membership type, gas station hours, pharmacy hours and other services. Upcoming holiday closures are shown there once Costco posts them.
- Set it as "My Warehouse" so its hours show at the top of costco.com.
Searches for "Costco hours near me" lead to the same place: the locator sorts warehouses by distance once you share your location or enter a ZIP code. If you are looking up a specific store, such as Novato, Shoreline, Clackamas or South San Francisco, type the city name into the locator and use that page, since it is the only place Costco publishes the store's own times.
Costco gas station hours
Costco gas stations open earlier and close later than the warehouse. Unlike the warehouse, they do not separate Executive and Gold Star hours on the pages we checked. You need a Costco membership card to buy fuel, and Costco's Member Privileges page says gas stations accept Visa, debit/ATM cards and Costco Shop Cards.
| Gas station (costco.com) | Monday to Friday | Saturday | Sunday |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colorado Springs (West), CO | 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. | 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. | 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. |
| San Jose, CA | 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. | 5:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. | 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. |
| San Jose Business Center, CA | 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. | 5:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. | 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. |
These stations show how much gas hours can differ. Busy urban stations often open at 5 a.m. Your local station's page shows the exact times and current prices for regular, premium and, where sold, diesel. Costco notes on each page that the online price may not match the pump, and the price posted at the pump applies.
Costco pharmacy hours
Pharmacy hours are shorter than warehouse hours and vary more from store to store. Costco's Member Privileges page says certain merchandise, including prescription drugs, may be bought by nonmembers where the law requires it, so in many places you can use the pharmacy without a membership card.
| Pharmacy (costco.com) | Monday to Friday | Saturday | Sunday |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colorado Springs (West), CO | 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. |
| San Jose, CA | 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. | Closed |
Both pages carry the same note: when only one pharmacist is on duty, the pharmacy may close for 30 minutes between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Call the pharmacy before you go if you are picking up a time-sensitive prescription on a weekend.
Hours for Costco services: tire center, optical, hearing aids and food court
Each warehouse page lists its services separately. Some publish their own hours, while others only give a phone number. This is what the San Jose, California, page shows, which is a typical full-size U.S. warehouse:
| Service | What costco.com lists | How to get exact times |
|---|---|---|
| Gas station | Own hours (5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays) | Warehouse page |
| Pharmacy | Own hours, closed Sunday | Warehouse page or pharmacy phone line |
| Tire Service Center | Same as warehouse hours for each membership type | Book at costcotireappointments.com |
| Optical Department | Phone number only | Call the optical line |
| Hearing Aids | Phone number only | Call the hearing aid line |
| Food court | Phone number only | Call the food court line |
- Tire Service Center: Costco says Tire Center hours for Executive, Gold Star and Business Members are the same as the warehouse hours. Appointments are recommended, and walk-in tire business is welcome but depends on bay availability. Costco's membership table lists installation, a five-year road hazard warranty, rotation and balancing, inflation checks, flat repairs and nitrogen inflation on Costco tires at no extra charge.
- Optical and hearing aid centers: the U.S. pages we checked do not post separate hours, only a direct phone number. Call before you go if you need an eye exam or a fitting. Costco's join page says its Hearing Aid Centers offer free hearing tests and professional fittings.
- Food court: no separate hours on the U.S. pages we checked. Call the food court number on your warehouse page if you need exact times.
Costco Business Center hours
Costco Business Centers are separate warehouses stocked for restaurants, offices and other businesses. Their schedule is quite different from a regular warehouse. On costco.com, the San Jose Business Center lists one set of hours for everyone: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Sunday. There is no separate Executive early hour on that page.
Search results for other Business Centers on costco.com, including Westminster, California, and Phoenix, Arizona, show the same 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. pattern. The San Jose Business Center lists departments such as Business Delivery, office furniture, restaurant supplies and a select produce and deli area, and it has its own gas station. The page lists no pharmacy, optical or hearing aid center, so check your Business Center's page before you plan a combined trip.
Costco holiday hours and closures
Costco's customer service center lists seven days when its U.S. warehouses close: New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The page does not name years, so it applies every year. Below are the 2026 dates for those holidays, plus New Year's Day 2027.
| Holiday | 2026 date | Costco U.S. warehouses |
|---|---|---|
| New Year's Day | Thursday, January 1, 2026 | Closed (official closure list) |
| Easter Sunday | Sunday, April 5, 2026 | Closed (official closure list) |
| Memorial Day | Monday, May 25, 2026 | Closed (official closure list) |
| Independence Day | Saturday, July 4, 2026 | Closed (official closure list) |
| Labor Day | Monday, September 7, 2026 | Closed (official closure list) |
| Thanksgiving Day | Thursday, November 26, 2026 | Closed (official closure list) |
| Christmas Day | Friday, December 25, 2026 | Closed (official closure list) |
| New Year's Day | Friday, January 1, 2027 | Closed (official closure list) |
Every 2026 holiday at a glance
The table below adds the other U.S. holidays and the busy days around the closures. "Not on closure list" means Costco has not named the day as a closure, so regular hours apply unless your warehouse page shows a change.

|---|---|---|
| Martin Luther King Jr. Day | Monday, January 19 | Not on closure list |
| Presidents' Day | Monday, February 16 | Not on closure list |

What Costco has not announced yet
As of October 16, 2026, the costco.com warehouse pages we checked show no upcoming holiday entries. The data field for posted holidays is empty. Costco has therefore not yet published U.S. hours for the day before Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve 2026.
Costco does not publish a company-wide shortened schedule for these days. Each warehouse page shows its holiday hours as the date approaches. Some news outlets report the early closing times from previous years. We do not repeat them here because Costco has not confirmed them for 2026. We will add the official times once they appear on costco.com. For deals and dates around the long weekend, see our Black Friday 2026 guide.
Last year's official schedule, for reference
The same seven-day closure list applied in 2025, on these dates: New Year's Day (January 1), Easter Sunday (April 20), Memorial Day (May 26), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (September 1), Thanksgiving Day (November 27) and Christmas Day (December 25). Costco did not publish a single company-wide table of shortened hours for Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve 2025. Those hours were posted for each warehouse.
Holidays when Costco is usually open
Holidays that are not on the closure list are normal business days, unless your warehouse page says otherwise. These include Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Juneteenth, Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day and Veterans Day. On these days, check the warehouse page for any local changes.
Costco hours in Canada, the UK and Australia
Costco runs separate websites outside the U.S., and each country sets its own pattern. A Costco membership card works at any warehouse worldwide, according to Costco's join page, so these hours matter if you travel.
Canada
The costco.ca page for Prince George, British Columbia, lists one set of hours with no separate Executive hour: 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Its gas station runs from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekends, and the pharmacy follows the warehouse hours. As in the U.S., the Tire Center keeps warehouse hours and takes bookings at costcotireappointments.ca. Canadian holiday closures appear on each warehouse page; we did not find a national list on costco.ca.
United Kingdom
UK warehouses split hours by membership type in a different way. The costco.co.uk page for Chingford, London, lists:
| Day | Gold Star | Business and Executive |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Friday | 11:00 to 20:30 | 10:00 to 20:30 |
| Saturday | 09:30 to 19:00 | 09:30 to 19:00 |
| Sunday | 11:00 to 17:00 | 11:00 to 17:00 |
The same page lists bank holiday hours of 10:00 to 18:00, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve hours of 10:00 to 17:00, and closures on Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Tyres, the Optical Centre and the food court follow warehouse hours.
Australia
Costco Australia publishes hours by state. For Victoria (Ardeer, Epping, Ringwood and Moorabbin), costco.com.au lists 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Victorian warehouses close on Good Friday (3 April), Easter Sunday (5 April), Anzac Day (25 April), Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Boxing Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Costco Australia also notes that fuel closes one hour after the warehouse closes. Other states have their own pages on costco.com.au.
Tips for timing a Costco trip
- Executive early hour. If you hold an Executive Membership, the first hour on weekdays and Sunday (30 minutes on Saturday) is reserved for you. For the cost of upgrading, see our Costco membership price breakdown.
- Gas before the warehouse opens. Pumps usually open hours before the doors, so you can fill up first.
- Holiday weeks. The days before a closure are busy. Thanksgiving week is especially crowded because the warehouse is closed on Thursday.
- Pharmacy on weekends. Many Costco pharmacies close early on Sunday or stay closed, so plan refills for a weekday.
- Tires by appointment. Because the Tire Center closes with the warehouse, a late-afternoon walk-in may not get a bay. Book ahead.
- Early-morning bulk runs. If you shop for a business, a Business Center opening at 7 a.m. gives you up to three hours before a regular warehouse opens to Gold Star Members.
Bottom line
A typical U.S. Costco opens at 9 a.m. for Executive Members and at 10 a.m. for Gold Star and Business Members on weekdays (9:30 a.m. on Saturday). It closes at 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and 7 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday closing is 6 or 7 p.m., depending on the store. Gas stations open as early as 5 a.m., the Tire Center follows warehouse hours, and Business Centers run 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Warehouses are closed on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Costco has not yet posted its 2026 U.S. hours for Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve or Thanksgiving week. Check your own warehouse page before you go.
