Streaming used to be the cheap alternative to cable. In 2026 it is a monthly bill that keeps creeping up. Netflix, Spotify, Disney+ and Hulu have all raised prices this year, and the gap between plans with ads and plans without them keeps widening. This guide puts the current price of every major service in one place, shows when each one last went up, and explains which changes are already on your bill and which are still on the way.
Data checked on October 16, 2026. Every price below comes from the company's own pricing page or help center, viewed with a US location. We give the date of the last increase only when an official page or the company's financial filings state it; major news reports are used only to confirm dates. Where we could not verify a date, the table says "not confirmed." Prices are monthly in US dollars and exclude sales tax unless noted.

Walmart Plus price
Walmart+ is a shopping membership, not a streaming service, but it matters here because it includes a video subscription. Walmart's membership page shows these prices.
| Walmart+ option | Price |
|---|---|
| Annual | $98 a year ($8.17 a month) |
| Monthly | $12.95 a month |
| Walmart+ Assist (government assistance recipients and college students) | $49 a year or $6.47 a month |
Source: walmart.com/plus, checked October 16, 2026. The monthly price follows from Walmart's statement that the $98 annual plan saves $57.40 a year compared with paying monthly.
Walmart+ members can "choose one ad-supported service every 90 days: Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential." Peacock Premium costs $12.99 a month on its own and Paramount+ Essential costs $8.99, so the streaming benefit alone is worth $108 to $156 a year at current prices. The $98 annual fee has not changed since Walmart+ launched in September 2020. Walmart+ also includes free delivery on orders over $35 and fuel discounts.
YouTube TV price increase
YouTube TV is a live TV service, so it costs much more than on-demand apps. Google's help center says the Base Plan costs $82.99 a month and that this price has applied since December 12, 2024. Subscribers billed through Verizon, Frontier or Wow saw it on bills after February 13, 2025.

The December 2024 date and current price are from Google's help center. Earlier dates are as reported by major news outlets at the time.
The Base Plan includes more than 100 channels, a DVR with unlimited storage, up to six accounts per household and three streams at once, with no extra fees for broadcast channels, HD or DVR. YouTube TV has not announced a new Base Plan price as of October 16, 2026. Its price has risen 137% since launch.

HBO Max, Peacock, Paramount+ and Apple TV
HBO Max
HBO Max's help center lists three plans: Basic with Ads at $10.99 a month or $109.99 a year, Standard at $18.49 a month or $184.99 a year, and Premium at $22.99 a month or $229.99 a year. Paying yearly saves about 16%. Premium adds 4K video and more simultaneous streams. We could not find the date of the latest HBO Max increase on an official page, so it is listed as not confirmed. HBO Max is also part of the Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max Bundle from $21.99 a month.
Peacock
Peacock's plans page shows three tiers: Select at $8.99 a month ($89.99 a year), Premium at $12.99 a month ($129.99 a year) and Premium Plus at $19.99 a month ($199.99 a year). Premium includes ads; Premium Plus removes most of them and adds downloads. The date of the latest change is not confirmed on an official page. Peacock Premium is one of the two choices included with Walmart+.
Paramount+
Paramount+ shows two plans on its sign-up page: Essential at $8.99 a month and Premium at $13.99 a month. Premium removes ads from most on-demand content and includes Showtime titles. Annual prices were not shown on the page we checked, and the date of the latest increase is not confirmed. Paramount+ Essential is the other Walmart+ streaming choice.
Apple TV
Apple renamed Apple TV+ to Apple TV in 2025. Apple's page lists the subscription at $14.99 a month, with no ad-supported tier. The date of the latest change is not confirmed on an official page. Apple TV is also included in Apple One bundles.
What a full streaming lineup costs
To show how quickly these prices add up, here are two example lineups using the current list prices above, before tax.
| Service | Cheapest plan | Ad-free plan |
|---|---|---|
| Netflix | $8.99 | $19.99 |
| Disney+ and Hulu (bundle) | $12.99 | $21.99 |
| HBO Max | $10.99 | $18.49 |
| Amazon Prime | $14.99 | $14.99 plus ad-free add-on |
| Peacock | $8.99 | $19.99 |
| Paramount+ | $8.99 | $13.99 |
| Apple TV | – | $14.99 |
| Spotify Premium Individual | Free | $12.99 |
| Total per month | $65.94 | $137.42 (plus Prime ad-free add-on) |
| Total per year | $791.28 | $1,649.04 |
Few households keep every service all year. Add YouTube TV at $82.99 a month and the ad-free lineup passes $220 a month, which is more than many cable packages.
How to pay less for streaming
- Use ad tiers for shows you watch casually. Moving Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max from ad-free to ad plans saves about $28 a month at current prices.
- Bundle where it is cheaper. The Disney+, Hulu Bundle at $12.99 costs only 50 cents more than either service on its own with ads.
- Pay yearly for services you keep. HBO Max and Peacock annual plans save around 16%; Prime annual saves $40.88 compared with 12 monthly payments.
- Check memberships you already have. Walmart+ includes Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential, and Prime includes Prime Video. Do not pay twice for the same app.
- Rotate. None of these services require a contract. Subscribe for a season, cancel, and come back when the next one starts. Before a scheduled increase, such as the October 21, 2026 Disney+ and Hulu change, you can switch plans to avoid paying the higher price for something you rarely watch.
Bottom line
In October 2026, Hulu and Disney+ with ads cost $12.49 a month and their Premium plans $21.49, with existing subscribers moving to these prices from October 21. Amazon Prime is $14.99 a month or $139 a year, unchanged since 2022. Spotify Individual is $12.99, YouTube TV is $82.99, Walmart+ is $98 a year, and Netflix Standard is $19.99 after its March 2026 increase. Ad-supported tiers now cluster around $9 to $13, while ad-free plans have moved to $18 to $22. Check your own account page before you renew, because the date a new price reaches your bill depends on when you signed up.
