Why it was recalled

The problem: a crash risk.

NHTSA's defect summary: “Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) is recalling certain 2024-2026 RM900 and 2026 RM700 trailers. The coupler mounting bolts may loosen, separating the coupler from the trailer.”

The consequence, according to NHTSA: “A separated trailer coupler can cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.”
