Good to know in Florida

  • Florida's policy manual: food benefits are issued over the first 28 calendar days of the month, including weekends and holidays, by the eighth and ninth digits of the case number.
  • Example from the rule: for case number 1234567890, drop the last digit (0) and read the 9th and 8th digits backwards – 9 then 8 – which gives 98, so benefits arrive on the 28th.
  • New cases and expedited approvals are outside the schedule in their first month.
  • Cash and SUNCAP benefits: 1st–3rd (digits 00-33 on the 1st, 34-66 on the 2nd, 67-99 on the 3rd).

How reliable is this date?

Florida's rule above was checked against the state's own published source on October 16, 2026 as well as the USDA Food and Nutrition Service listing. The first month after approval is often paid on another day; the schedule applies from the month after.
