Good to know in Texas
- Texas HHSC's handbook (B-251, effective October 1, 2023) sets the 1st–28th schedule above. It replaced the 16th–28th schedule still shown in the older FNS listing.
- Households certified before May 1, 2023 keep their earlier date unless benefits stopped for at least six months and they reapplied after May 1, 2023 – check your Lone Star Card account.
- TANF cash: 1st–3rd by the last EDG digit (0–3 on the 1st, 4–6 on the 2nd, 7–9 on the 3rd).

Does the date change if it falls on a weekend?
Texas's published rule names a calendar day and does not mention weekends; in most states the deposit still posts on that day. Check your balance the morning of your date.
